About the Author
Marc Shell, a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fellow, is the Irving Babbitt Professor of Comparative Literature and Professor of English at Harvard University, where he is also a professor in the graduate program in History of American Civilization. He is the author of a number of books. These include three influential studies of the relations between linguistic and literary economies: The Economy of Literature (1978), Money, Language, and Thought (1982), and Art and Money (1995) as well as books on nationalism, kinship, and multilingualism, such as The End of Kinship (1986) and American Babel (2002), and on disability, including the recent titles, Polio and Its Aftermath (2005) and Stutter (2006). A Canadian citizen, Shell has long been interested in the relations between Canada and the United States. With his wife, Professor Susan Shell, he co-directs The Seven Days Work Educational Foundation, Grand Manan Island, Canada, which sponsors conferences and educational outreach programs in the greater Gulf of Maine region in both countries.

Half legal , Half marketing, all worth it

Saunders tells it like it is. This is well written and plain English, not legal jibber jabber. You can pay a lawyer a whole lot more for advice that might hold up in court but you would still have a lousy trademark. The author seems to be half lawyer half marketing genius. This material was well worth it. Sound pragmatic advice that will be applied on our next trademark decision!

About the Author
Heather Dowd is a teacher, education technology coach, science enthusiast, traveler, photographer, and most of all, a learner. She has worked as a physics teacher, instructional designer, and education technology coach in Japan, USA, Mexico, and Singapore. She currently enjoys leading professional learning workshops to help teachers create engaging experiences for students. Teaching English with the JET program in Kumamoto, Japan inspired her to become a teacher and the adventure hasn't stopped. Heather is a Google for Education Certified Innovator/Trainer, Apple Distinguished Educator, and a Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certified Educator who believes that students should have access to current technology in order to be creative in ways that weren't possible when she was in school.

Patrick Green is an Education Technology Coordinator and Site Director for the Global Online Academy for the Singapore American School. He dreams of a world where people no longer use the word "technology" and instead talk about and seamlessly integrate "relevant tools" into their learning practice. Patrick thrives in the diverse connections his careers offers. He works enthusiastically with students, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders to help them meaningfully create, collaborate, communicate, and critically think. Having taught in the Pacific Northwest, the Czech Republic, and now Singapore, Patrick is nearing his 20th year as an educational leader. He continues to find his inspiration first and foremost as a learner. The Digital Age is upon us and with it comes new opportunities and new challenges in the classroom. Heather Dowd and Patrick Green provide a clear and concise guide for teachers to better manage technology rich learning spaces. They avoid technical and educational jargon and address the key issues that arise with the use of technology in schools. This is a great book with easy to follow tips and best practices for implementing digital citizenship in your school.

Photographer and consultant, Bob also conducts workshops, lectures and private instruction On-Line in all phases of digital photography. Beginning serious photography in 1965, Bob explored conventional darkroom techniques in both B&W and color. His work at Polaroid R&D in silver emulsions along with his US patent for color printing give Bob a broad base in film photography. He was an instructor for both the Nikon and the Time Life Schools of Photography. He presented his first digital media production in 1984, founded the Olympus School of Digital Photography in 1998 and continues to work at the leading edge of digital technology. As digital photography continues to advance, Bob will continue to blend his unique background of film photography with his extensive experience in the digital world.

ensures nice LCD images and sub-optimal prints)

I bought the pdf version and find it very clear as well as concise! As I went through Mr DiNatale's procedures, and examples, the process became very enlightening of how he condensed down into a very practical series of calibration steps the ETTR procedure. Prior to his book and insights - I didn't know that the Histogram wasn't more than a crude guide to overexposure warnings and if followed, ensures nice LCD images and sub-optimal prints)! He explains with actual examples (the pdf images are lacking, but, his inclusion of the actual images on his website) critically shows exactly the detail and information one needs to verify that they are exposing and processing optimally.
This was the best (and probably cheapest} photography money I've ever spent on my personal photography improvement.

an important game changer

Very compelling argument and very easy to follow and understand . I've run some of the tests and am now shooting using DiNatale's process. It works. There is no question that I am now capturing much more information than before. The handbook format of the book makes it very portable and useful as a reference. I have not had time to follow all the suggested links but am looking forward to learning more. It is jammed full of information.

Important rethinking of exposure

This book is clearly written and therefore valuable to both technical audiences and those of us, like me, who are not so technical. The significant information boils down to the fact that cameras are misleading in showing blown out areas in the display feedback. Important information for amateurs like me who thought the camera was the best guide to exposure.
