This work replaces earlier ones of the kind: it is more compendious, more accurate, more up-to-date in its word- equivalents and typographical arrangements. The authors can be relied upon for slight corrections and necessary additions as the two languages evolve. All of us who have taught or studied Indonesian or Malay wish we might have had this work a decade or so ago. Forty years ago we learned Dutch or we did not gain access to materials in [Indonesian] Malay, Javanese, or other languages of the Netherlands East Indies. Planning for Indonesia vacation

This English-Indonesian dictionary is a great book to further my knowledge of the Indonesian language, or as it is called in Indonesia, bahasa Indonesia. I have some smaller books on learning the language, but they only have common words and phrases, but this English-Indonesian Dictionary has nearly every word in English that a person could possibly need and has the Indonesian word(s) for it in very descriptive terms. I am planning a great adventure to Indonesia and self-teaching the language. I purchased this book as a "used" item, but when I received it, it was in new condition. Had I not known that I purchased a "used" book, I would have just assumed it to be new, it was in such great condition. Thanks to Amazon and thanks to the seller. Great job!! Old stock from 1975, low quality paper, don't buy it.

This is a dissapointing book, the manufacturing and paper is of the lowest quality. I sent mine back. The print is small and not very legible.

I admired this dictionary.Almost every necessary word is given with their usages in illustrative sentences.I would like to find such a dictionary containig the words which appeared after 1980.
